Clothing to be worn to BMT should be relevant to the temperatures at Lackland at the time you are gong. For example. If it's winter Texas can get COLD, If it's summer it will be HOT so dress accordingly

NEW DRESS CODE FOR THE DAY YOU LEAVE BMT:

Business casual attire will be worn by recruits not attending Tech School at Lackland.

RECOMMENDED CLOTHING ATTIRE THE DAY YOU LEAVE BMT:

collared polo/button-up shirt, a pair of pants/slacks, and closed toe shoes. 

UNAUTHORIZED CLOTHING ATTIRE THE DAY YOU LEAVE BMT:

jeans, leggings, shorts, hoodies, sweats, skirts, and sandals/heels

  • Driver's License / State ID
  • Alien card and/or naturalization certificates
  • Marriage License and Birth Certificate for dependents
  • Completed Lackland Visitor Log
  • Bank Name, Routing Number & Account Number
  • ATM / Debit Card
  • Social Security Card
  • Enlistment Contract
  • College Transcripts
  • Civil Air Patrol Certificates
 

ITEMS NOT TO BRING

The following items are prohibited at Air Force Basic Military Training: 

  • Lighters, of any type
  • Expensive Jewelry
  • Expensive Watches
  • Magazines
  • Music Players
  • Electric Toothbrushes
  • Electric Razors
  • Illegal Drugs / Alcohol
  • Candy / Food
  • Tobacco, of any form
